During the law merit badge teaching session, two dublin police officers came in and talked to us about law and crime. They told us what they do, their funniest moments, weirdest calls, and most importanly, how to stay safe. I say it was the best opening to any merit badge yet.
During our much loved snow sports outing, scouts can have a choice between skiing and snowboarding. Tubing is also an option. If you get tired after doing some sweet tricks with your friends and just having fun, you can come back to the lodge which offers food and drink. After a full day of having fun on the slopes, we went back to our cabin for pizza and a movie.
Every year, around January 17th. Troop 299 takes the well known and very fun trip to a Columbus Blue Jackets game. Although they ended there winning streak a few games prior, we still were able to have fun and watch them take one more win under their belt.
During this campout, well known through out our troop and many others, the klondike gives us a cold but fun expeirence. This particular klondike had an interesting (and smelly) twist, we slept in a barn! A real working barn, and barn has barn animals, pigs, cows, and even cats. All who seemed to not even feel the cold.
On Friday December 16th we went to Vertical Adventures. We got there at 10:00 PM then recieved a safety briefing. after that we could climb untill 2:00 AM. We also got pizza. In the morning we left at 8:00 and were greeting with a icy storm! We sure had a lot of fun! And are excited to do it again!
On November 4th through 6th we went to our annual shoot-o-ree. It was a blast we shot 1,000 rounds of .22 rifle, 3,500 rounds of 12 and 20 gauge shotgun and shot down 3,240 clay pigeons. As always this was our most attended outing of the year with 60 scouts attending! Overall it was so much fun and wecan't wait to go next year!
