Scouts Planning To Attend Camp Conestoga and Parents,
There will be a informational meeting for parents on May 18th, 6:15 PM at IRUMC.
Each scout should complete the Activity Schedule form with activities and merit badges he wishes to take. New scouts should enroll in the Pathfinder program and then take one or two other activities or merit badges. Scouts may wish to have an open period for swimming, working on merit badges back at camp, or for some R&R. More detailed information about the activities can be found in the Parent's guide.
Please turn in the Activity Form at the May 18th meeting or make other arrangements with Mr. Miller before May 18th. Courses are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis so we will be mailing ours on May 20th. Some changes later are permitted but it's best not to count on that.
Plans for our 2010 return to Camp Conestoga for resident camp are well underway. Camp this year is the week of Sunday, July 25 through Saturday, July 31.
Scouts may register early by paying a $50 deposit now. The early registration discounted fee is $295. The remaining balance of $245 must paid in full before May 3rd. The fee after May 3rd is $315.
For Webelos who joined the troop this Spring, the fee will be $295. The fee for a second scout or more attending camp from the same family is $255 per scout. Leader fees will be determined later after all registrations are complete. Fees are payable by check to "Boy Scout Troop 299" or by your scout account.

THE outing designed for our newest scouts to begin their Boy Scouting adventures, plus a great opportunity for our experienced scouts to teach and lead. This year we are returning to John Bryant State Park's group campground - where we had so much fun last year!
Meet at IRUMC at 5:00 PM, on Friday, April 9th. Plan to depart camp by mid-morning and return to Dublin by noon on Sunday, April 11th. See the attached Permission Slip for more information.

This year's Backpacker we will be going to Lake Hope State Park and Zaleski State Forest Backpack Trail in the Hocking Hills area.
This will be a fun and exciting outing so plan on attending!
If you currently do not own a backpack, we are in the process of obtaining a limited number of backpacks available to rent for the weekend for $20/pack. Contact Mr. Miller for additional information.
If you plan to attend the outing, please bring the signed permission form and fees to the troop meeting on Tuesday, March 2nd. There will be additional backpacking instruction and information provided during the troop meetings on March 2nd and March 9th.
