Field of Honor

Troop 299 will participate in Dublin Field of Honor September 10 analtd 11th, 2011.  The Patrol Leader's Council believes it is important for us to support this commemorative tribute to the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The field of flags are majestic and moving – a place to reflect, remember and respect.  The field will be open and free to the public from Saturday, September 10, 7:00 PM to Monday, September 12, 6:00 PM.  The field will be lit at night and cared for 24/7 by field keeper volunteers. Police and Fire Chaplains will be on hand to provide support the entire weekend.

 

Location: The Dublin Field of Honor will be on the Dublin Coffman High School Practice Fields, behind the football stadium and the baseball and softball fields, across Emerald Parkway from Cardinal Health and Verizon  If parking
is not available at Dublin Coffman High School, parking should be available at Carinal Health or Verizon.

We will participate at two times:

Saturday, September 10, 2011, 7:00 PM. We will meet at 6:00 PM. If you aren't able to join us until 6:30 PM, that's fine. We will assist with any final opening ceremony preparations between 6:00 and 7:00 PM, as needed, and will attend the opening ceremony between 7:00 and 8:00 PM. We would like as many scouts, leaders, and families, as possible, to attend the opening ceremony.

Sunday, September 11, 2011, 12:00 Noon - 1:00 PM. We will meet at 11:30 AM.  The We will help provide support to visitors during this hour.

Closing Ceremony will be Monday, September 12, 2011 at 6:00 PM. Flag rolling will begin following the closing ceremony.  If you are interested in attending the closing ceremony and helping roll flags, let me
know.  There may be a need to help roll flags.

Uniform:   Full Class A Uniform is required,  Scouting bolo ties or neckerchiefs and merit badge and/or Order of the Arrow sashes should be worn,  If you do not have Class A Pants, you may wear zip-offs, khakis, or nice jeans.  Do not wear sweat pants, athletic shorts, camo. Closed toe shoes and socks - no flip-flops or sandals.
