Wednesday, 23 September 2009 17:16

The Scouts of Troop 299 (Indian Run United Methodist Church) want to invite the Dublin area Webelos to join us on our next outing.

What:  Webelos Weekend Featuring Patrol Olympics and Cooking Challenge
When:  October  16th, 17th, and 18th
Where:  Camp Otter Run, Northwest of Marysville, Ohio

Experience a boy scout outing, learn more about the boy scouting program, spend a weekend with Troop 299, and have the opportunity to complete some of the requirements towards the Outdoorsman Activity Badge and the Arrow of Light.Troop 299 is a scout led troop and our scouts are still finalizing the details.

So far their plans include:

- Patrol Olympics with games of scouting, sporting, and team building  skills.
- Cooking to challenge the meal planning and cooking skills of our patrols.
- Saturday evening campfire featuring skits, songs, stories, and a flag retirement ceremony.

The Webelos will join the scouts of one of our patrols for all activities and meals.  The Webelos leaders and parents are invited to join the troop leaders for meals and the opportunity to learn more about Boy Scouting and Troop 299.In accordance with BSA policy, Webelos dens will need to provide their own adult leadership and provide their own tent camping arrangements.  However, there will be plenty of space to camp with our patrols near their campsites.

As our guests, all facility, activity, and food costs will be paid by Troop 299. We know how busy scouts are this time of year, so feel free to join us for all or part of the weekend - Camp Otter Run is an easy 45 minute drive from Dublin.Attached is a flyer with these details.

If you would like one of the scouts and a leader from Troop 299 to attend your next den or troop meeting or if you would like us to drop off some flyers, let us know.  We'll make sure that happens. For a complete schedule of activities, driving directions, more information, or to make a reservation, please feel free to contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
